The webpage of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute will be avaible at AIRi.
The research directions within AIRi are aligned with existing regional and national strategies related to smart specialization and AI: (i) the National Strategy in the Field of Artificial Intelligence 2024–2027, (ii) the Smart Specialization Strategy of the North-West Development Region 2021–2027 and (iii) the National Strategy for Research, Innovation, and Smart Specialization 2022–2027.
In developing ICIA's research directions, strategic EU documents (e.g., the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2025–2027), various models of interaction between academia and industry (e.g., Partnership for AI), research infrastructure access guidelines (e.g., the European Charter for Access to Research Infrastructures), and organizations monitoring AI risks and societal incidents (e.g., AlgorithmWatch) were consulted. The proposed topics aim to facilitate the development of AI in the context of regional economic realities and to align with UTCN's development strategy, managerial plan, and strategic projects in which UTCN is a partner (e.g., IPCEI, HRIA). Some of ICIA's governance norms have been adopted from documents prepared within the EUt+ alliance (Data Management Plan).
