Given the accelerated development of artificial Intelligence (AI), the “Vice-Rectorate for IT Infrastructure and Digitalisation” is planning to expand and deepen its competences in this area. The aim is to integrate AI with care in teaching, learning, research and administration. Special attention will be given to didactic approaches based on digital tools and the used AI in education (AIEd).
UTCN has continuously been involved in numerous AI initiatives and policies. First, the National Strategic Framework for AI was developed by the Authority for the Digitalization of Romania in collaboration with the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. The elaboration of the Romania Strategy for AI. Based on this framework, the Romanian strategy for AI was approved-on 11 July 2024 for the period 2024-2027. Second, UTCN is core member in the Romanian HUB for AI (HRIA). Third, UTCN is represented in the Scientific and Ethics Council on Artificial Intelligence. Fourth, UTCN is represented in the Technical Committee for Standardisation ASRO CT 401 Artificial Intelligence
UTCN thus provides its members with access to appropriate AI-based services, both within the university or as part of collaborations (e.g. cloud-based AI services). Staff should be given opportunities to familiarise with the AI-based technologies and to share experiences for the use of AI-based services.
